OPHTHALMIC LENS COATING & TINTING
WEEKEND COURSE

Of special interest to:

OPTICAL TECHNICIANS, DISPENSING OPTICIANS, OPTICAL ASSISTANTS.

The topic is lens tinting and coating, covering all aspects of hard coating, vacuum deposition, MAR coating, theory and procedures. Led by the UK industry's leading authority, Dr. Peter Wilkinson. The course provides an understanding of all types of lens surface treatments, including tints, UV absorbers, toughening and mirror coatings as well as anti-reflection coatings, and is preceded by a brief revision of the basic optical parameters or refractive index, dispersion, the colour of the spectrum etc. The course should therefore be of equal interest to dispensing opticians as well as laboratory staff as it explains the pros and cons of all types of surface treatments on lens products, (not just how they are manufactured).
