This course, which has been designed by Professor Mo Jalie, author of "The principles of Ophthalmic Lenses" & "Practical Ophthalmic Lenses", is essential for anyone who would benefit from having a better understanding of lenses and prescription possibilities.

Prismatic effect of decentration
Calculation of prismatic effect at any point on the lens
Vertex Powers
Influence of thickness on power
High power lenses
Prism control bifocals
Elementary aspects of lens design
Use of computers for surfacing instruction
Relevant Standards .

Students should have passed Part 1 of the SMC examination or attended the Modular Course on Introduction to Technical Theory.
