How to apply for a grant

The trustees of the Spectacle Makers' Charity tend to decide their grants for the current financial year when they meet in early Spring.

Therefore, whilst applications may be made at any time, those that are received between June and March are unlikely to be addressed immediately.

The trustees' primary concern is the fight against visual impairment, and each submission should contain a detailed explanation as to how the grant will be used, bearing in mind that the trustees prefer to facilitate specific projects rather than just contribute to a general fund. Please also note that the trustees prefer to support national campaigns, rather than local causes.

All applications should be accompanied by a copy of the applicant's latest set of audited accounts.
